What is a PS4 Jailbreak?
A PS4 Jailbreak is a method used to bypass the official firmware restrictions of the PlayStation 4, allowing you to run homebrew software, install unsigned PKG files, and gain greater control over the system.
Retail PKG vs Fake PKG (FPKG)
Retail PKG: Official packages released by Sony/developers for unmodified consoles.
Fake PKG (FPKG): Modified versions for jailbroken PS4s. They allow users to play games without official purchase or access features not available in retail versions.
What is HEN (Homebrew ENabler)?
HEN is a payload that enables the installation and running of homebrew applications and FPKG games. It essentially activates the jailbreak features once the console is booted up.

How do I check my firmware version?
Go to the main menu: Settings > System > System Information. The version will be displayed there.
Should I update or use Backports?
If you are on 5.05 and a game requires higher firmware, do NOT update. Updating removes the jailbreak. Instead, install the base game and then the Backport PKG to make it compatible.
What does "Firmware 5.05+" mean?
It means the game is playable on 5.05, 6.72, 7.02, 7.55, 9.00, and 11.00. If your firmware is lower than the game's requirement, you must apply a Backport PKG.

What is the best PS4 jailbreak version?
Depends on your needs. 5.05 is famous for its extreme stability. Newer versions like 9.00 and 11.00 support more games natively but have different stability levels.
Can I downgrade my firmware?
Generally NOT possible. Once you update, you cannot go back to an earlier version without advanced hardware modification.
Can I connect to the Internet?
You can, but it is highly risky. Sony monitors for modifications; connecting to PSN could result in a permanent ban. It is safer to stay offline.

USB Format Support
